About TimetableGen

TimetableGen is a free online timetable maker built for schools, colleges, teachers, students, offices, gyms, and households. Launched in June 2026, our mission is to make schedule planning simple, visual, and accessible - so you spend less time fixing spreadsheets and more time running classes, teams, and routines that actually work.

Our Story - Why TimetableGen Exists

TimetableGen was born from a simple frustration: building a weekly timetable should not require expensive software, a steep learning curve, or hours of trial and error in a spreadsheet. Schools were printing handwritten grids. Teachers were rebuilding the same Excel file every term. Students were writing study plans on paper and losing them by Wednesday. Families had no single place to see the week's shared commitments at a glance.

We built TimetableGen to solve all of these problems in one clean, browser-based tool that anyone can use in minutes - with no installation, no account required, and no cost. From a school coordinator in India planning the semester's class schedule to a student in the UK building their first exam revision timetable, TimetableGen was designed to work for real people with real scheduling challenges.

Since launching in June 2026, TimetableGen has helped thousands of users across schools, coaching institutes, universities, fitness centers, offices, and households create structured weekly schedules that they can actually follow. Every feature we have built - drag-and-drop editing, auto-save, color-coding, conflict detection, PDF and PNG export - exists because real users needed it for real situations, not because it looked impressive in a product demo.

Our Mission

Our mission is to make structured weekly planning accessible to everyone - from a primary school teacher managing 30 students across six subjects to a working parent trying to coordinate two children's school schedules with their own work commitments. Scheduling should not be a specialist skill that requires expensive tools. It should be something anyone can do well with the right support.

We believe that a clear, well-built timetable improves lives in concrete ways: students perform better when their study time is structured, teachers deliver better lessons when their workload is planned rather than reactive, and families function more calmly when everyone can see the week's shared routine in one place. TimetableGen exists to make that clarity available to as many people as possible, completely free.

What We Focus On

Every decision we make about TimetableGen comes back to one question: does this make scheduling easier and more useful for the person using it? That focus shapes everything from how the builder interface works to what content we publish in our scheduling guides.

Why TimetableGen Is Free

We made TimetableGen free because the people who need it most - students, teachers in under-resourced schools, small coaching institutes, individual gym trainers - are often the ones who can least afford per-seat scheduling software licenses. Charging for access to a basic but genuinely useful tool creates a barrier that we did not want to build.

Core timetable creation, editing, color-coding, conflict detection, auto-save, PDF export, PNG export, and sharing are all free with no account required. We believe that useful scheduling tools should be available to a student planning their exam revision in the same way they are available to an enterprise HR department - without friction, without a credit card, and without a trial period that expires.

What Makes TimetableGen Different

Our Scheduling Guides

Alongside the timetable builder, TimetableGen publishes detailed, practical scheduling guides for every major use case - school timetables, college schedules, study planners, teacher timetables, employee shift rosters, gym schedules, office work plans, and family routines. Each guide is written with real operational detail so it is useful whether you are reading it to learn or using it as a reference while building your own schedule.

Our guides are written by scheduling practitioners with direct experience in academic and operational planning - not generated from generic templates. Every recommendation is grounded in how real institutions and individuals build and manage weekly schedules, including the common problems that occur and how to prevent them.
